Lazard MBA’s Loosen Their Ties to Build A Better Team and Some Bikes For Kids in New York
Lazard MBA’s Loosen Their Ties to Build A Better Team and Some Bikes For Kids in New York City and New Jersey. At the center of Manhattan’s commerce, beat the heart of team building and Philanthropy. These new Lazard MBA finance wizards put down their forecasts, recommendations, and advice, and took up the tools of team building. They learned about each other, built their team, and some bikes for kids who have none.
It is rarely a team of one that changes the world. Even Warren Buffet, is surrounded by others who are smart, dedicated, and willing to work together. Achieving success is done much faster and more efficiently if teamwork is learned and fostered. As Vince Lombardi said, “The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual.”
Safety inspected and ready to roll, the bikes were presented to some kids who never imagined that New York’s financial world would reach out to them. These kids not only got an introduction to some nice, caring people, they got a birds eye view of Manhattan, and loved the elevator ride up to what seemed like the top of the world.
One child, from Chinatown, asked what people do at Lazard. It will be a while before the kids understand the language of financial advisement, like mergers and acquisitions, strategic matters, restructuring and capital structure, capital raising and corporate finance, but on this day everyone understood the language of giving. For the kids, it meant that someone outside their family cared enough to try and make their lives a little better. For the folks at Lazard, learning about reaching out to help other teams, breaking down the silos before there are erected, solving problems, recognizing each other’s strengths, and making kids smile was a really great day at the office! A couple of the financial wizards shook my hand and said, “This was a great event.” And I was able to say, “You, and Lazard made it happen.”
