The Build-A-Bike Team Building Workshop^® and charity event is a brainy, challenging, program where your group is divided into teams to solve specific challenges in order to build bicycles for young children from either Big Brothers, Big Sisters or the Boys and Girls Club in your local area!

This is the original bicycle team building event! Each team has puzzles to solve, codes to decipher, and secrets to unlock in order to acquire the resources that they need (part by part) to build a bicycle.

Challenges are discovered along the way that must be overcome in order to accomplish their goal. The ultimate conclusion to the event is the understanding that, each component of a team (company) is interdependant and can't work siloed from the other components of the team. When we work together, we acomplish more -- faster!

During your half-day or full-day event, you'll engage both your minds and your bodies in solving the puzzles of teamwork.

We'll cover ways to:

• Brainstorm.
• Problem-solve.
• Communicate better as a team.
• Identify strengths of individual team members.
• Collaborate better as a team.
• Realize that departments and individuals within a company can't act independently of their coworkers. When the team works together, they accomplish a lot more.
• And have tons of fun in the process.

Full day versions with a combination of Build-A-Bike^® and Creating a Team Culture are also available for a small additional charge.

Suggested Agenda

This workshop is designed to be 3.5-hours* long, but can be tailored to fit specific time frames. * 2 hour versions are also available for a slight discount.

• Icebreaker: Team members learn about each other and themselves in a fast-paced free-for-all designed to organize your team into smaller groups. Team names and leaders are chosen.
• Instructions and ground rules are offered by our facilitator.
• Clues and challenges are distributed to each group. Every event's clues are unique and tailored to the specific group. Some challenges are based on the history or culture of their own organization while others are based on the specifc area where the event is held.
• Groups begin to acquire the necessary materials and tools to build their bike. Challenges such as having too many of a specific part or not enough of another begin to develop.
• Groups must discover that in order to succeed, they are not competing with each other, but instead are competing against scarce resources, just like at the office.
• At the conclusion, groups present their bicycles to children from local charities. Our preferred charities are Campfire USA and Big Brothers/Big Sisters, but if your organization has another organization in mind, we'll be happy to work with them as well.
