The Guys and Dolls Team Event is a brainy, challenging, program where your
group is divided into teams to solve specific
challenges in order to build Dollhouses for
children who have, or have a sibling who
has, a terminal disease. This program is specifically designed for
smaller groups of 5 to 25 people. For larger
groups, please visit our Build-A-Bike Team Building program.
|
Each team is given puzzles to solve, codes
to decipher, and secrets to unlock in order
to acquire the resources needed (part by
part) to build their Dollhouse. Challenges
are discovered along the way that must be
overcome in order to accomplish their goal.
During your half-day or full-day event, you'll
engage both your minds and your bodies in
solving the puzzles of teamwork.
We'll cover ways to:
Brainstorm.
- Problem-solve.
- Communicate better as a team.
- Identify strengths of individual team members.
- Collaborate better as a team.
- Realize that departments and individuals
within a company can't act independently
of their coworkers. When the team works together,
they accomplish a lot more.
- And have tons of fun in the process.
Tuition for this program includes all materials,
dollhouses, and instructor travel expenses.
Additional charges may apply for travel outside
the US. Shorter versions can be tailored
for annual meetings and conventions. Full
day versions with a combination of Guys-N-Dolls and Creating a Team Culture are also available for an additional $2,000.
Suggested Agenda
This workshop is designed to be 3.5-hours
long, but can be tailored to fit specific
time frames.

Icebreaker: Team members learn about each other and
themselves in a fast-paced free-for-all designed
to organize your team into smaller groups.
- Instructions and ground rules are offered
by our facilitator.
- A few warm-up challenges are presented to
the whole group that are designed to get
the group thinking about how to sharpen communication
and camaraderie.
- A challenge course requiring communication,
patience, and teamwork is introduced. Groups
begin to acquire the necessary materials
and tools to build their dollhouses. Challenges
that require collaboration between small
groups begin to appear.
- Groups must discover that in order to succeed,
they are not competing
with each other, but
instead are competing
against scarce resources,
just like at the office.
- At the conclusion, groups present their Dollhouse
to a representative from a local charity.
Our preferred charities are Ronald McDonald
House and Make-A-Wish, but if your organization
has another organization in mind, we'll be
happy to work with them as well. The Leader's
Institute will also match a monetary donation
from your organization up to $250.
