We just finished another great public speaking seminar in Seattle, WA. A group of five set out to master public speaking in this February class. Against the city’s backdrop, they discovered that, even in the cool days of winter, warming up to effective communication was not only possible but empowering.
Many of the participants were from Seattle tech companies. So, we focused a lot on how to give technical presentations to non-technical audiences. As the class went on, though, each person brought a unique style and compelling story. The room was a buzz of activity and fun.
Valentine’s Day was in the air. So, our goal was to help the group fall in love with public speaking. (Okay, that is a terrible pun. But after writing hundreds of these case studies, we sometimes want something a little different. Right?) I’m not sure if we succeeded with everyone. But we did help them gain a higher comfort level when they presented.
