IHG Hotels & Resorts IT Managers Reunite for a Giving Back Experience in Atlanta, Georgia
The Build-A-Bike® event brought together IHG’s IT managers. Many of them were meeting face-to-face for the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The team members flew in from locations across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., making this event particularly special. On the third day of their conference, the IT managers gathered at the Kimpton Shane Hotel. They then divided into teams to compete in bike-building challenges that encouraged communication, problem-solving, and collaboration. The activity proved to be both enjoyable and insightful, with each member discovering new teamwork strategies to bring back to their roles.
At the end of the event, the teams presented the newly built bikes to representatives from the Whitehead Boys and Girls Club. The donation of these bikes aligned with IHG’s “Giving for Good” goals, creating a lasting impact for local children. The Whitehead Boys and Girls Club, which supports youth development and education, will use these bikes to promote fitness, independence, and confidence among the young participants they serve. This moment was both heartwarming and inspiring for the IHG team, bringing a sense of purpose to their conference and team-building efforts.
We are deeply grateful to IHG Hotels & Resorts for partnering with us to make a difference in the Atlanta community and to the Whitehead Boys and Girls Club for their incredible work supporting local youth.
