Highstreet Insurance Partners Builds Community Through Record-Breaking Build-A-Bike® Event in Austin, Texas
The Build-A-Bike® event provided a meaningful opportunity for Highstreet team members to collaborate. All while making a tangible difference in the Austin community! As part of their annual Agents of Change meeting, employees worked together to build 200 bicycles. Thus making this the largest single-day Build-A-Bike® event ever facilitated by The Leaders Institute. The activity not only strengthened bonds among colleagues but also reinforced Highstreet’s core values of community engagement and support.
Scott Wick, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Highstreet, emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, “Giving back to the communities where we live and work is part of Highstreet’s DNA. It was a privilege to be in Austin with many of our colleagues and be able to bring some ‘Highstreet’ to the school-age children of Austin. We are focused on building resilient communities.”
The Austin Independent School District received all 200 newly built bicycles, each accompanied by a helmet for safety. According to Lindsay Perlmutter, Administrative Supervisor from the Austin Independent School District, the bikes will be awarded to elementary students at the end of the school year for achievements such as perfect attendance. Michelle Wallis, Executive Director of the Office of Innovation and Development, attended the event personally to accept this generous donation on behalf of the district.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Highstreet Insurance Partners for their extraordinary contribution to the children of Austin. We also thank the Austin Independent School District for their partnership in distributing these bicycles to deserving students and for their ongoing commitment to education and student achievement.
