Duperon Corporation gathered 90 employees for a Build-A-Bike® bike building team event in Saginaw, Michigan on June 3rd. Team members came from a variety of locations and departments across the Midwest, many traveling specifically for the event. Most participants walked in unsure of what the afternoon had in store. By the end of the program, teams had assembled 11 bicycles donated to local youth in the Saginaw community.

Based in Saginaw, Michigan, the company has served water and wastewater customers for over 40 years. Duperon’s technology supports industries ranging from municipal wastewater treatment and flood control to food and beverage processing and power generation.
Duperon Corporation Employees Set a Record Pace at Bike Building Team Event in Saginaw, Michigan
The group that arrived for this event came from different departments and different parts of the Midwest. Most walked in not quite sure what to expect. That changed fast. As soon as the Build-A-Bike® challenges got underway, the room shifted into a completely different gear.
Some teams moved through the trivia and puzzles so quickly that bike parts started disappearing from the table before other groups had finished half their challenges. The pace was fast, the energy was loud, and the whole thing had the kind of productive chaos that makes the program work. Throughout the competition, sharp teamwork and quick thinking kept the room moving. The winning team pushed things further than anyone else, finishing their bicycle in record time.
By the end of the program, 11 bicycles were ready to go to local kids in Saginaw, kids who may not otherwise have had access to a bike of their own. What started as a day full of uncertainty wrapped up as one of the more memorable afternoons the group had spent together.
