Baker Hughes hosted the Build-A-Bike ® team building exercise at the La Toretta Lake Resort in Conroe, TX. 80 of their top salespeople attended. A top-tier oilfield service company with a century-long track record, Baker Hughes delivers solutions that help oil and gas operators make the most of their reservoirs. Collaboration is the foundation on which we build our business. The event was very lively, it was held during their reception hour before dinner. Scott, the contact for this event said this team is a very competitive group and they really enjoy themselves when the meetings for the day are over.
The Build-A-Bike ® event teaches teamwork skills through a series of challenges which the teams are to complete. The tasks encourage the teams to think outside the box to come up with solutions while they are learning to work efficiently as a team. The opening exercise is just what the group needed after a long day of meetings. The overall lesson is that everyone works together to reach the same goal. The group participated and worked well with each other, there was a lot of teamwork going on in the room.
Luckily, We Scheduled this Team Building Event Indoors.
A storm rolled in during the program. But, luckily, we scheduled the event indoors. So, at the end of the event, some kids from the YMCA of Conroe, TX showed up, despite the storm, to receive the bikes.
As the kids were riding their new bikes in the ballroom, Scott Schmidt of Baker Hughes turned to me. “You didn’t tell me the kids were coming! I am moved to tears,” he said.
I knew they were coming, and I was still misty-eyed.
