Casey Family Programs Build-A-Bike® Event in Seattle, WA
Casey Family Programs recently hosted a Build-A-Bike® team-building event in Seattle, Washington. They brought together 40 employees to foster collaboration and give back to the local community. The participants, spanning departments such as legal, communications, facilities, HR, and technology, teamed up to build 12 bicycles that would be donated to foster youth in the area. This engaging event allowed the team to connect, compete, and work toward a meaningful shared goal.
Founded in 1966, Casey Family Programs is the largest operating foundation in the United States. They’re dedicated to safely reducing the need for foster care. With a presence in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and tribal nations, Casey Family Programs works to strengthen communities and improve the well-being of children and families across North America. Through initiatives like the Build-A-Bike® event, the organization seeks to foster unity and positive change both internally and within the communities they serve.
Casey Family Programs Teams Up for Build-A-Bike® in Seattle, Washington
The Build-A-Bike® event was an excellent opportunity for Casey Family Programs employees to build connections and hone their teamwork skills. This gathering of 40 colleagues allowed participants from diverse departments to engage in friendly competition while constructing bikes. The event’s collaborative structure emphasized the value of open communication, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. All in all, it strengthened the bonds across Casey Family Programs’ teams and created a rewarding experience for everyone involved.
In keeping with the organization’s mission, they donated the completed bikes to Treehouse. This Seattle-based nonprofit supports foster youth with essential resources, educational support, and access to enriching experiences. The 12 bicycles will be distributed through Treehouse’s resource center, providing foster children in Seattle with new opportunities for recreation, confidence building, and independence. Additionally, by partnering with Treehouse, Casey Family Programs was able to extend its impact on the foster community. Overall, they were able to align the event’s charitable focus with the organization’s core values.
