Essex Property Trust HR Teams Unite for Build-A-Bike® Event Near Los Angeles, California
The Build-A-Bike® event was strategically designed to break down departmental silos within the HR team. Through carefully planned group mixing and modified icebreakers, participants engaged in activities that promoted cross-departmental collaboration. A highlight of the event was the conversation stack exercise, which culminated in participants introducing their partners to their teams. This approach proved particularly effective in helping team members from different cities and departments form meaningful connections.
Despite the space constraints, the teams remained highly engaged throughout the event, embracing both the team-building aspects and the charitable mission. The judges added an extra layer of enthusiasm to the proceedings by creating and performing their own special “Judge’s cheer.” Thus demonstrating that the spirit of collaboration extended beyond the participants. Participants not only gained valuable insights into effective teamwork but also experienced the satisfaction of contributing to their community through the Boys and Girls Club.
