The Finish Line Youth Foundation held a Build-A-Bike® volunteer event for their team to give back to the Indianapolis community. 50 participants competed through team challenges, built 20 bicycles, and donated them all to the Moorhead Community Resource Center.
The Finish Line Youth Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Indianapolis-based athletic retailer Finish Line. The foundation supports children and youth in underserved communities, with a particular focus on the Far Eastside of Indianapolis. They partner nationally with organizations like Special Olympics, Feeding America, 100 Black Men of America, and Girls Inc.
Finish Line Team Builds and Donates 20 Bikes in Annual Volunteer Event
50 Finish Line employees spread across teams and moved through the Build-A-Bike® volunteer event challenges. Teams compete to earn the components they need — wheels, handlebars, seats — and assembly follows from there. The format pushes groups to communicate and coordinate.
20 bikes came together by the end of the event. All of them went to the Moorhead Community Resource Center, an organization that serves families in the Indianapolis community. Finish Line Youth Foundation has built its volunteer culture around consistent, direct engagement with the Indianapolis community. This event fits that pattern well.
