W.R. Berkley Corporation hosted a Build-A-Bike® charity bike building event in Greenwich, Connecticut. Though originally planned for eighty-five participants, an unexpected concurrent event in Orlando resulted in a more intimate gathering of forty team members. Despite the last-minute changes, the dedicated group came together with enthusiasm to build bicycles for children in their community.

The Build-A-Bike® event demonstrated W.R. Berkley’s ability to adapt and maintain focus on community service, even amid challenging circumstances. Despite the reduced attendance due to the concurrent Orlando event, the participating team members showed remarkable flexibility and commitment. The informal atmosphere, with participants moving in and out throughout the event, created a unique dynamic that highlighted the team’s ability to collaborate effectively even in fluid situations.
Teams worked together during their lunch breaks to assemble bicycles for local children in need. The event’s success in spite of unexpected changes reflected the company’s adaptability and commitment to community service – qualities that mirror their approach to serving diverse insurance markets. Even with the modified format, participants remained engaged in the bike-building process, ensuring each bicycle was assembled with care and attention to detail.
