Women in Restaurant Leadership Unite for Build-A-Bike® Event in Nashville, Tennessee

The Build-A-Bike® event offered a valuable pre-conference opportunity for Women in Restaurant Leadership (WiRL) conference attendees. Despite challenging weather conditions that brought snow to Nashville, participants chose to arrive a day early specifically for this team-building activity. The Grand Hyatt Nashville provided an elegant setting for this workshop-style event. It created an intimate atmosphere that fostered meaningful connections among the attendees who were previously strangers to one another.

During the event, the participants demonstrated exceptional collaborative skills, quickly forming connections across team boundaries without prompting. Unlike typical competitive dynamics often seen in team-building activities, these women naturally gravitated toward cross-collaboration. Overall, they were united by their shared commitment to giving back to the community. When weather conditions prevented representatives from the Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee from attending the donation ceremony, the event coordinator shared a video about the organization’s impact. This touching presentation resonated deeply with all participants, reinforcing the meaningful purpose behind their collaborative efforts.

We extend our sincere gratitude to WTWH Media and the Women in Restaurant Leadership Conference attendees for their generous donation of bicycles to children in need. We also thank the Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee. Their work supporting youth development throughout the region is vital.
