The Microsoft CELA annual Summit brought together 52 team members for a bike-building event in Kenmore for charity. The summit gathers legal, compliance, and corporate affairs professionals from around the world each year. In July 2026, they hosted it at The Lodge at St. Edwards in Kenmore, Washington. Professionals competed through team challenges, assembled 10 bicycles, and donated them to KidVantage NW, a charity that provides essential supplies to children in the greater Seattle area.
Microsoft is one of the world’s largest technology companies, headquartered in Redmond, Washington. CELA stands for Corporate, External and Legal Affairs — the division that manages legal, compliance, and government affairs functions across the company. The CELA Summit brings together professionals from these disciplines across Microsoft’s global operations.
Microsoft CELA Professionals Donate 10 Bikes for Bike-Building Event at Annual Summit
The CELA Summit is a working event. Sessions are dense and focused, leaving little room for creativity or spontaneity. The Build-A-Bike® challenge gives the group something entirely different to focus on. The group moved through challenges to acquire parts and assembled 10 bikes at The Lodge at St. Edwards, a retreat venue on Lake Washington just north of Seattle.
All 10 went to KidVantage NW, formerly Eastside Baby Corner. The organization provides essential care, health, and safety items to children experiencing economic hardship, homelessness, or family disruption. They reach more than 15,000 kids each year across five Central Puget Sound counties.
