On Sept. 9, Clutch hosted a Build-A-Bike® team-building event in Washington, DC. 40 employees took part as the anchor activity of Clutch’s quarterly in-person gathering. The event revolved around getting to know one another before donating the finished bikes to the YMCA.

Clutch Team Members Build Bikes For Charity in Washington
The event was the anchor of Clutch’s quarterly in-person get-together, a gathering built each quarter around one of the company’s values. This time the value was philanthropy. And the theme was “know each other” — which made the Have You Ever icebreaker a natural fit heading into the build. The event gave a team that doesn’t always get face time together a reason to actually sit down and talk.
Once the icebreaker warmed the room up, the group moved into the build itself. The team came together well and clearly enjoyed the afternoon. The group carried themselves throughout with an easy energy that made the whole event feel less like a corporate obligation and more like exactly what it was meant to be: a chance for coworkers to actually know each other a little better.
When it came time to hand off the bikes, the group representing the YMCA showed up to collect them in person. Charity representative Carolyn Samuel-King accepted the bikes on behalf of local kids.
