Air Liquide Build-A-Bike® Team Event in Houston, TX
Twenty executives from Air Liquide USA gathered at their Houston office for a Build-A-Bike® corporate team building event on September 9th. To underscore the importance of the initiative, their senior leader traveled all the way from France to participate. His engagement and enthusiasm set the tone for the day. He offered high praise afterward, noting how impactful the experience was for both the team and the community. The event was perfectly capstoned by donating all the bikes to DePelchin Children’s Center.

Air Liquide Leaders and Staff Come Together for a Build-A-Bike® Charity Team Building Event in Houston, Texas!
The event was a resounding success. Executives praised the program for breaking down barriers, strengthening relationships, and reinforcing collaboration in a hands-on, high-energy way. Participants also highlighted how meaningful it felt to connect their teamwork to a larger purpose.
Because of the success of this pilot, Air Liquide is exploring opportunities to expand Build-A-Bike® across its U.S. operations. The initiative could potentially reach 20,000 employees. Build-A-Bike® provided Air Liquide with more than just a team-building exercise. It created a powerful blend of leadership development, employee engagement, and community impact.
The bicycles built by Air Liquide executives were donated to DePelchin Children’s Center, a nonprofit that has been serving children and families in Houston since 1892. DePelchin provides parenting classes, counseling, foster care, and adoption services to ensure children have the care and support they need to overcome trauma and thrive in safe, loving homes. They are a wonderful non-profit in Houston that was timely, well-spoken, and grateful. They have 900 kids who have asked for bikes for Christmas, and these were the first four they received for the Holiday Store.
By combining team development with this charitable impact, Air Liquide made a direct contribution to families in need across all of Houston.
