ASML Build-A-Bike® Event Near Phoenix, AZ

ASML gathered for a Build-A-Bike® charity team building event at the Marriott Phoenix Chandler in Chandler, AZ. With twenty-five participants, this group of engineers came together during a multiple day meeting and training session to strengthen their teamwork skills. Though small in number, the group demonstrated tremendous energy and competitive spirit while building bicycles for donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Chandler, creating a memorable experience filled with laughter, collaboration, and meaningful community impact.

ASML is an innovation leader in the global semiconductor industry, manufacturing machines that chipmakers use to mass produce microchips. Founded in 1984 in the Netherlands with just a handful of employees, ASML has grown to over 40,000 employees representing 143 nationalities across more than 60 locations worldwide. The company provides chipmakers with hardware, software, and services to mass produce patterns on silicon through lithography, pushing technology to new limits to enable the creation of smaller, faster, and more powerful chips.

ASML Engineers Unite for Build-A-Bike® Event Near Phoenix, Arizona

The Build-A-Bike® event presented an ideal opportunity for ASML’s engineering team to take a break from their technical training and engage in a different kind of problem-solving activity. From the beginning, the group’s competitive nature was evident, yet this was balanced with an abundance of laughter and camaraderie. Participants enthusiastically tackled the bicycle assembly challenges, applying the same innovative thinking and collaboration skills they use when developing cutting-edge lithography systems in their daily work.

During the activity, teams not only focused on building their own bicycles but gradually discovered the importance of inter-team cooperation. The post-activity debrief proved particularly valuable, as participants reflected on their teamwork strengths, identified challenges they faced, and discussed how they either recognized or missed opportunities to collaborate across teams. The Boys and Girls Club of Chandler added a heartwarming touch to the event by bringing thank-you cards made by the children who would receive the bicycles. These personal messages from the recipients deeply resonated with the ASML team, reinforcing the meaningful impact of their team-building efforts beyond the workplace.

We extend our sincere thanks to ASML for their generous bicycle donation to children in need. We’d also like to express our gratitude to the Boys and Girls Club of Chandler for their valuable partnership and for sharing the children’s thoughtful thank-you cards, which made the experience even more meaningful for all participants.
