Barrett Paving gathered for a Build-A-Bike® team event in Nashville, TN. Held at the JW Marriott, the event celebrated the conclusion of their yearlong leadership development program. Fifty-six participants, many of them engineers, took part in the hands-on challenge. The evening also welcomed spouses, adding a family feel to the energetic celebration like we have never seen before.

Barrett Paving Teams Up for Build-A-Bike® Team Event in Nashville, Tennessee
This Build-A-Bike® event served as the grand finale to a year of leadership training. In the program’s final months, teams competed in a business simulation, building and marketing bikes virtually. The real-world Build-A-Bike® event was the perfect bookend to that experience. Engineers worked in teams to assemble bikes, laughing and collaborating with enthusiasm. With spouses cheering them on, the room buzzed with friendly and familial competition and accomplishment like we have rarely seen before.
The charity component added even more meaning to the event. Youth Villages, a nonprofit that supports children and families in need, sent a representative to accept the donation. Despite the late hour, they arrived at 8PM to thank the team personally. The heartfelt message inspired the group and underscored the impact of their efforts. The evening combined skill-building, team bonding, and community giving, making it a night to remember.
