Okta Build-A-Bike® Team Building Event in San Francisco, CA
Okta hosted a Build-A-Bike® charity team building event in San Francisco, California. The event brought together 12 members of the company’s security team, many of whom had only met virtually. They traveled from Ireland and Canada, arriving slightly jet-lagged but still eager to participate. Despite the fatigue, the group found the experience rewarding and fun. They especially enjoyed the opportunity to give back to the community through the event’s charitable component.

Okta Security Team Connects During Build-A-Bike® Team Building Event in San Francisco, California
This Build-A-Bike® event marked the first time Okta’s security team met in person. Previously, they had only interacted through Zoom calls. Jet lag from international flights dulled the initial energy, but the event soon brought smiles and laughter. Participants teamed up, worked together, and assembled bikes with growing enthusiasm. As the challenge progressed, their collaboration and camaraderie steadily improved, until by the end of the event, when they were officially beyond excited to be there
The completed bicycles were donated to Safe and Sound, a nonprofit supporting child abuse prevention in San Francisco. A representative from the charity, Chris, arrived promptly and shared a heartfelt message. His brief talk added meaning to the effort, helping participants see the impact of their work. In the end, the team walked away not only bonded, but proud to have made a difference for local children.
