Hologic Engineers Unite for Build-A-Bike® Event in Newark, Delaware

After a full day of technical training, the international engineering team embraced the opportunity. They shifted from precision medical technology to hands-on bicycle assembly. The casual atmosphere of the golf course pub provided a refreshing contrast to their usual laboratory and design environments, encouraging relaxed interaction and team bonding. These engineers typically focus on developing life-saving medical devices. However, today, they applied their technical expertise and attention to detail to a different kind of assembly project.

The diverse group, representing Hologic offices from around the world, brought their collaborative spirit to the bike-building challenge. Their professional focus on precision and quality control naturally translated into the careful assembly of each bicycle. The event offered these engineers, who play a crucial role in developing technologies that improve women’s health globally, a chance to make an immediate, tangible impact in their local community. The completed bicycles were donated to the YMCA of Delaware. Thus providing local children with new opportunities for exercise and outdoor activities.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Hologic’s global engineering team for taking time from their intensive training schedule to participate in this charitable initiative. Special thanks to the YMCA of Delaware for their continued dedication to youth development and healthy living in the community.
