Mass General Brigham (MGB) successfully conducted a Build-A-Bike® charity team building event in Somerville, MA. This event, specifically organized for the largely remote Information Security team, aimed to foster stronger relationships among the team members. It served as an engaging and fun prelude to their all-day workshops focused on designing the future state strategy of MGB’s Information Security Program. The event didn’t just bring laughter and enjoyment, however. It also underscored the importance of communication, collaboration, and relationship-building within the team.

Mass General Brigham Information Security Team Strengthens Bonds Near Boston, Massachusetts

The Build-A-Bike® event was a perfect blend of fun and meaningful interaction for the MGB Information Security team. As a group that primarily works remotely, this event offered a rare and valuable opportunity. Namely, for the team members to connect in person (rare in our virtual age)! Through the collaborative process of assembling bicycles, they experienced the vital role of clear communication and teamwork. In the end, the activity was not just about building bikes. It was about constructing stronger, more cohesive team dynamics, crucial for their intensive future strategy sessions.

The impact of the event extended beyond team building. The bicycles assembled by the MGB team were donated to the Boys & Girls Club, adding a charitable dimension to their efforts. This act of giving back to the community resonated deeply with the team’s values and Mass General Brigham’s commitment to service. The joy and sense of accomplishment from contributing to a noble cause reinforced the team’s unity. And above all, it highlighted the importance of their collective efforts in making a difference.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Information Security team at Mass General Brigham for their enthusiastic participation and for making a significant impact in the lives of children through the Boys & Girls Club. Your commitment to teamwork and community service is truly commendable.
