Meltwater Build-A-Bike® Team Building Event in San Jose, CA

We really enjoyed working with a team from Meltwater for a combination team workshop and a bike team-building event in San Jose, CA. The group themselves were also a combination. Half the team was from their Product Launch team. The other half was from their Product Advertising team.
The event brought together staff from across the United States and Europe at their Redwood City headquarters. This unique combination event addressed professional development needs while making a community impact. Participants first engaged in workshops focused on reducing public speaking anxiety and enhancing storytelling skills. They then channeled their teamwork into assembling four bicycles. They donated them to the Police Activities League (PAL) of Redwood City.

Meltwater’s Product Teams Had a Blast Building Teamwork in San Jose, California.
The Build-A-Bike® Combo event offered Meltwater’s international team a multi-faceted development opportunity at their California offices. The first portion of the event focused on addressing common professional challenges within their industry: public speaking anxiety and effective storytelling. These skill-building workshops provided valuable techniques that directly enhance the Product Launch and Product advertising teams’ ability to communicate product value and features effectively to clients and stakeholders.
During the bicycle assembly portion, the social and competitive nature of the group emerged as they applied their newly reinforced teamwork and communication skills. Despite being geographically dispersed in their normal work environments, the teams quickly formed cohesive units to tackle the bicycle building challenges. The international composition of the group added a valuable dimension to the experience. It allowed team members who typically collaborate remotely to strengthen their connections through hands-on cooperation. Their combined efforts resulted in four perfectly assembled bicycles ready for donation to local children through PAL Redwood City.
We extend our sincere thanks to Meltwater. We won’t forget their thoughtful participation and generous donation to children served by the Police Activities League of Redwood City. And of course, we also appreciate PAL’s ongoing work to build positive relationships between law enforcement and youth in the community.
