The NLC Mutual Insurance team gathered for a Toys4Tails charity team building event in Seattle, WA on September 11th. Sixteen participants took part during their annual staff retreat at Cedarbrook Lodge. Together they competed in playful challenges that fostered camaraderie and purpose. The event concluded with two bins overflowing with toys and treats for Charlie’s Foundation, benefiting senior shelter animals in the community.
NLC Mutual Insurance Company was founded in 1986 to provide stability for public entities through member-owned reinsurance solutions. With support from the National League of Cities, the organization grew into a collaborative pool of 28 state league-sponsored risk pools. These pools provide coverage for thousands of municipalities across the United States. Today, NLC Mutual continues to focus on specialized underwriting and actuarial expertise, supporting liability, property, workers’ compensation, and other specialty coverages.
NLC Mutual Insurance Employees Gather for Toys4Tails Event in Seattle, Washington
The Toys4Tails event gave NLC Mutual employees a chance to connect beyond their workplace. Engaging challenges promoted teamwork, laughter, and problem-solving. The group’s energy carried throughout the session, culminating in generous donations of toys and supplies. Their contributions supported a cause close to many hearts, caring for animals in need.
Charlie’s Foundation made the event even more meaningful. Teresa, a representative from the shelter, attended along with Doris Day, her 18-year-old Maltipoo. The shelter specializes in providing adoption and care for senior dogs and cats, many of whom require additional support. The team’s donations filled two large bins, ensuring comfort and joy for the animals awaiting homes. The presence of Doris Day highlighted the impact of their efforts in a tangible, heartwarming way.
