Norwich Public Utilities Builds Bikes for Charity in Norwich, CT

Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) hosted a Build-A-Bike® charity bike building event at their Business Development Center in Norwich, Connecticut. Forty utility workers gathered for what they initially thought would be a simple bike assembly task. To their surprise, they quickly discovered a more engaging and entertaining challenge. Their good humor and teamwork transformed the event into a memorable experience that combined their technical expertise with charitable giving.
Norwich Public Utilities, established in 1904, serves as the comprehensive utility provider for the City of Norwich. They manage four essential services: natural gas, electricity, water, and wastewater collection. As a municipally-owned organization governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners and Sewer Authority, NPU operates with a direct focus on serving the best interests of Norwich citizens, maintaining a strong connection to the community they support.

The Build-A-Bike® event revealed a lighter side of NPU’s utility workers, who approached the task with confidence born from their technical backgrounds.
