Retail Sports Marketing Team Obstacle Course Challenge in Charlotte, NC

Retail Sports Marketing hosted a team obstacle course challenge in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Oct. 8, 2026. Sixty-five team members gathered at the company’s Charlotte office for an afternoon of teamwork and friendly competition. The whole team took part, from HR to marketing to vice presidents. They split into nine teams to take on our aMAZEing Builders activity. Along the way, they earned 27 backpacks for students at John Lawrence Elementary.

Retail Sports Marketing is an experiential marketing agency based in Charlotte, North Carolina. For about 30 years, it has helped brands connect with shoppers through in-person experiences at retail locations. The agency runs more than 110,000 retail activations each year. Its clients include Disney, LEGO, Chobani, Hormel Foods, and the NBA. It also has an office in Bentonville, Arkansas. In Sept. 2026, the company announced a new name, RSM&. The “&” reflects a wider focus that links in-person experiences with data, commerce, and digital media. Its proprietary platform, R.96, connects audience insights with strategy, execution, and measurement. This wasn’t the team’s first event with us, either. In 2023, 50 team members built bikes for kids from the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club.

Charlotte Marketing Agency Guides Teammates Through a Maze in North Carolina

Megan Clark reached out looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity for her team. The goal was to have some fun together and give back at the same time. So, the room held people from every corner of the company. HR worked side by side with marketing. Vice presidents joined the same teams as everyone else. aMAZEing Builders is built for every age and fitness level. There are no push-ups, cargo nets, or monkey bars. Instead, the challenge tests how well a team communicates. Each team had to guide its members through a maze to collect the items for the donation. To do it, every team developed its own non-directional communication strategy. No two teams solved the puzzle quite the same way.

The teams were energized from the start. The room was full of laughter as teammates policed each other to keep everyone playing by the rules. A little competition kept the pace high. Every team member had a part to play in getting through the course. Each team raced to get its members through the maze and earn its share of the donation. But the competition had a bigger purpose. The group was excited to make a positive impact in the community. By the end of the afternoon, the nine teams had earned all 27 backpacks. It was a fun outing that left the whole team with something to be proud of.

The team donated the 27 backpacks to John Lawrence Elementary, a kindergarten through fifth-grade school. Retail Sports Marketing delivered the backpacks to the school itself. The school’s mission is “to provide appropriate and effective learning experiences for all children.”

We’d like to thank Megan Clark for bringing Retail Sports Marketing back for another charity team event. We would also like to thank John Lawrence Elementary for the work it does for its students every day.
