Smith+Nephew Manufacturing Team Builds Bikes and Bonds at Charity Event in Columbia, MD
Smith+Nephew hosted a Build-A-Bike® charity team-building event at their Columbia, Maryland, facility. This event was part of a multiday onsite meeting. Overall, it brought together 70 enthusiastic members of the manufacturing team and their supervisors for a day of collaboration, connection, and community service.

Smith+Nephew manufacturing team collaborates for a cause in Columbia, Maryland
The Build-A-Bike® event provided the young and energetic manufacturing team with an opportunity to work together outside their usual environment. Divided into teams, participants collaborated to assemble bicycles. It gave them the opportunity to showcase their teamwork and problem-solving skills. In the end, the event concluded with the donation of the assembled bikes to The Y of Central Maryland. Thus ensuring that local children would receive a special gift to enhance their health and mobility, in line with Smith+Nephew’s mission.
The event was a resounding success, not only strengthening the bonds among team members but also reinforcing Smith+Nephew’s commitment to giving back to the community. Additionally, the participants left the event with a sense of accomplishment, knowing their efforts would make a meaningful difference in the lives of children in their community.
