The Southern Company gathered for an aMAZEing Builders charity team building event at the Oxford Civic Center in Oxford, Alabama (just outside Birmingham) on September 15th. With 120 leaders attending from across multiple divisions, this event encouraged collaboration and conversation among colleagues who had never met in person before. Designed to strengthen interpersonal connections and communication, the activity offered a fun and interactive setting for leaders to bond while giving back to the local community.

Southern Company Leaders Connected at an aMAZEing Builders Event in Birmingham, Alabama
The aMAZEing Builders event challenged teams to navigate an indoor obstacle course while blindfolded, relying on strong communication and trust to complete each challenge. Each successful round earned supplies to fill backpacks donated to students in need through Oxford City Schools District. At first, the group appeared quiet, but once the competition began, laughter and encouragement filled the room. By the end of the event, everyone was cheering and celebrating their collective success.
This activity not only built stronger bonds between team members but also highlighted the company’s culture of service and teamwork. Leaders left with renewed enthusiasm for collaboration and a shared sense of purpose heading into the upcoming year.
