Hitachi Digital Charity Team Building Activity in Half Moon Bay, CA

Hitachi Digital gathered for a Build-A-Bike® charity team building activity in Half Moon Bay, California. Twenty-five participants attended the leadership offsite after two major groups merged together within the organization. Team members traveled in from around the world to connect, collaborate, and strengthen relationships. During the event, the group explored communication styles, team strengths, and ways to shift from competition toward collaboration. The event also gave participants a chance to support local families by donating bicycles to ALAS Half Moon Bay.

Hitachi Digital Leaders Connect During Build-A-Bike® Charity Team Building Activity in Half Moon Bay, California

The Build-A-Bike® offered an amazing way for the newly merged leadership teams to get to know each other outside of normal work conversations. Throughout the event, participants worked through challenges that highlighted communication habits, collaboration styles, and problem-solving approaches. The atmosphere became more and more energetic as teams balanced friendly competition with teamwork. As the event went on, the focus naturally shifted toward helping one another succeed. That transition mirrored the larger goal of bringing the newly combined teams together under one shared vision.

The charity portion of the day added even more meaning to the experience. Hitachi Digital partnered with ALAS Half Moon Bay, a local nonprofit serving migrant farm worker families and low-income communities throughout Northern California. ALAS provides education programs, social work services, and critical resources for families in nearby farming neighborhoods. Right after the event ended, ALAS delivered the donated bicycles directly to local families living just across the street from the venue. That immediate impact helped participants see how their teamwork benefited the surrounding community in real time.

We want to give a huge thank you to Hitachi Digital for supporting local families through this meaningful charity event. We’d also like to thank ALAS Half Moon Bay for the incredible work they continue to do throughout Northern California.
