The Amazon AWS team in East Palo Alto, California, gathered for their second team-building event at SJC18 Amazon. Following a successful Build-A-Bike® event a few months prior, the team was eager to engage in the aMAZEing Builders charity team building activity. The event was a vibrant blend of competition, collaboration, and community service. All in all, it perfectly aligned with Amazon’s culture of innovation and teamwork.

The AWS team, pivotal in driving Amazon’s technological advancements, exemplifies these values through continuous learning and problem-solving initiatives.

Amazon Participates in High-Energy Team Building Activity in San Francisco, CA

The aMAZEing Builders event began with teams of 5-6 people engaging in activities designed to enhance their understanding of one another’s strengths and collaborative problem-solving skills. The high-energy atmosphere was palpable as teams moved onto the main event. That is, navigating through an indoor obstacle course blindfolded, relying on their teammates for guidance. This fun and competitive environment encouraged participants to strategize and communicate effectively, reinforcing team bonds.

At the end of the event, the participants assembled 15 backpacks filled with school supplies. They then donated these to the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula. Representatives from the charity attended the event, sharing insights about their programs and the impact of these donations on local children. The Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula, serving communities close to the Amazon office, helps prepare kids for the summer and the upcoming school year, providing them with the necessary tools to succeed.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Amazon for their continued commitment to community service and team development. Additionally, we are grateful to the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula for their invaluable work in supporting local children and for their participation in the event.
