Character Biosciences Team Connects During Corporate Charity Bike Build in Brisbane, California
Character Biosciences brought their drug development team together for a retreat centered on future planning. After sessions filled with brainstorming and strategy, the Build-A-Bike® event shifted the focus to hands-on collaboration. The group approached each challenge with precision, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of humor. Teams worked through activities to earn bike parts while building stronger connections. The experience gave employees a chance to interact in ways that extended beyond their daily work.
As the bikes came together, the purpose behind the activity became even more meaningful. The completed bikes were donated to Live in Peace, a local youth program in East Palo Alto. The organization runs an extensive bike shop that supports at-risk youth through hands-on programs. Tito Alvarez, the Youth Director, helped coordinate the donation and continues to support the community through Chase Love. His work also extends to outreach events for the unhoused across Northern California. The partnership added a deeper layer of impact to the event.
