Duke Corporate Education incorporated a Build-A-Bike® charity team building event into their leadership development program in Durham, North Carolina. Thirty participants from Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) engaged in this hands-on activity. The event was part of their “Leading Others” module, the third week of their comprehensive training program. The event successfully demonstrated leadership principles in action while benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Wake County.

As participants worked together to assemble bicycles, they experienced firsthand the importance of clear communication, team dynamics, and adaptive leadership—core concepts that Duke CE emphasizes in their programs. The success of the event was so apparent that Duke CE plans to incorporate Build-A-Bike® into future client training programs, recognizing its value in bringing leadership principles to life. The completed bicycles were donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Wake County, demonstrating how effective leadership can create positive impact in local communities, even through international collaboration.
