The Hickman Mills Middle School team participated in a Build-A-Bike® charity team building event in Kansas City, MO. This closing session of their annual district leadership institute focused on collaboration, community, and fun. The event brought together 50 leaders, including principals, assistant principals, operations leaders, and executive cabinet members. Their district theme, “Undeniable: The Power of One,” inspired the day, reinforcing unity and shared purpose.

Hickman Mills Leaders Unite for a Build-A-Bike® Team Building Event in Kansas City, Missouri
The Build-A-Bike®, from begging to end, was exactly what was needed for the elementary and secondary school leaders. By mixing academic and operations staff into teams, the event fostered collaboration and helped participants work together as one unified group. This alignment supported the district’s theme and demonstrated the undeniable progress being made for students. The program concluded with laughter, cheering, and a strong sense of shared accomplishment.
The bicycles built during the event were donated directly to children at Hickman Mills Middle School. Students received brand-new bikes right before school time, bringing joy while reinforcing the district’s mission of community support. This heartfelt donation highlighted the district’s dedication to nurturing children both inside and outside the classroom.
