The Ionis Pharmaceuticals team gathered for an aMAZEing Builders team building charity event in Vista, CA on October 9th. This international group was thrilled to finally meet and, for the first time, work together in person. The activity combined teamwork, competition, and community impact. Through a series of fun obstacle course challenges, the group assembled pediatric care kits for children in need at Cesar Chavez Elementary School.

The aMAZEing Builders program turned Ionis’s team gathering into a hands-on, high-energy experience. Staff at Ionis navigated a series of obstacle course challenges that tested their communication, trust, and problem-solving skills. Teammates guided each other through the maze while blindfolded, collecting items for the pediatric care kits they would later assemble. The excitement and laughter created powerful moments of connection among colleagues from around the world.
Each kit contained essential items to support children’s comfort and wellness. Afterwards, the donation to Cesar Chavez Elementary School brought smiles to so many young faces and reinforced Ionis’s deep commitment to community care. The event beautifully tied together Ionis’s mission, to improve lives through innovation, with an afternoon of teamwork, giving, joy, and fun.
