LIV Development hosted an aMAZEing Builders team building event at Livano Norfolk in Norfolk, VA as part of Livano Serve Day 2025. Originally expecting seventy-five participants, the event still delivered high energy and enthusiastic participation with thirty residents and staff members. With a shift in structure to accommodate the smaller group, the activity succeeded in fostering new connections and giving back to the community through donated backpacks full of school supplies.

LIV Development Energizes Community Through aMAZEing Builders Team Building Event in Norfolk, Virginia
The Norfolk team brought high spirits and full engagement. LIV staff decided to adjust the rules to keep the energy up and accommodate the smaller group, shifting the challenge to see which team could complete the most tasks. Participants arrived expecting a typical assembly-line activity. Instead, they found an interactive and fun team obstacle course. Many praised the event’s excitement and strong sense of collaboration. Even longtime volunteers noted it was the most engaging event they’d seen. To build connections, each team was blended with both residents and staff. The event concluded with a food truck, allowing conversations to continue long after the last backpack was filled.
As the maze zaniness unfolded, backpacks quickly filled with every school item a kid would need just in time for back to school. These completed backpacks were donated to the United Way, represented by Mikayla. She arrived promptly, gave a heartfelt thank-you, and engaged with both residents and staff. Her presence helped participants see the real-world impact of their efforts, reinforcing the event’s purpose and leaving a lasting impression.
