Mortenson Build-A-Bike® Event in Minneapolis, MN
Mortenson gathered at the iconic U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN, for a Build-A-Bike® charity team building event. Held in the exclusive Club Purple suite, the event was part of the company’s Annual Meeting. With 80 team members in attendance, the activity focused on collaboration and culture, core values deeply embedded in Mortenson’s identity. It was also a significant milestone for one of our instructors, Scott, who led his first large-scale Build-A-Bike® event.

Mortenson team builds bikes and camaraderie in Minneapolis, Minnesota
The Build-A-Bike® event served as a dynamic close to Mortenson’s Annual Meeting. Set against the backdrop of Club Purple at U.S. Bank Stadium, the session energized participants while reinforcing the company’s strong internal culture. Team members split into groups and raced to assemble bicycles, with laughter and spirited competition filling the stadium suite. It was clear from the start that Mortenson’s team shares a deep-rooted camaraderie, one that made leading the session a joy. For our instructor Scott, it marked his first time leading a Build-A-Bike® event of this size, and he did a phenomenal job stepping up to the challenge.
More than just a team building exercise, this event had a charitable mission at its heart. Each completed bicycle was donated to a child in need, reinforcing Mortenson’s dedication to making a difference beyond the workplace. Through teamwork and shared purpose, the event fostered not only stronger bonds among colleagues but also a sense of pride in giving back to the Minneapolis community.
