Rochester Institute of Technology Bike Building Activity in Rochester, NY

Rochester Institute of Technology hosted a bike build event in Rochester, New York at the Skalny Room SMT-A500. Eighty student leaders gathered on January 24, 2026 for their annual leadership-focused community service event. The program united students around culture, leadership development, and meaningful social impact. Each participant stepped into the room ready to serve and grow. The shared service experience created energy that carried throughout the event.

Student leaders formed teams and tackled challenges designed to strengthen communication and decision-making. Each team earned bike components by working through problem-solving activities. As the competition unfolded, students encouraged one another and celebrated each success.

The leadership focus remained clear throughout the event. Participants practiced delegation, collaboration, and accountability in real time. The fast-paced format kept everyone engaged and invested in the outcome.

At the conclusion, teams assembled brand-new bicycles for donation to R Community Bikes. Their representatives arrived on a Saturday to collect the bikes and thank the group personally. The moment reinforced the direct impact of the students’ efforts. The event delivered both leadership growth and tangible community support.
