80 team members of The Assurance Group took part in a bike building event during their annual Summer Sales Event at the Grandover Resort & Spa in Greensboro, North Carolina. The event’s theme was WIT — Whatever It Takes. Ten teams competed, assembled 10 bicycles, and donated them to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Triad.
The Assurance Group (TAG) is one of the nation’s leading insurance marketing organizations. They serve independent agents and carriers across the United States. Their annual Summer Sales Event brings the full network together for a few days each year.
TAG Builds 10 Bikes for Boys & Girls Clubs at Bike-Building Event in Greensboro
TAG’s Summer Sales Event runs like a family reunion. Agents travel in from across the country. Leadership fills the room, including the CEO’s wife, Beverly Shackelford, and their grandson, who has attended these gatherings since birth.
Ten teams formed inside the Carlisle Ballroom at Grandover Resort. Damian Johnson of The Leaders Institute facilitated the event. Three judges came directly from TAG leadership. The Teams worked through Build-A-Bike® challenges, earned components, and raced to complete their bikes.
When the builds were finished, Ray Trapp arrived. Ray Trapp is Director of Advancement at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Triad. He brought 10 children on-site to receive the bikes the teams had just built. Those kids had no idea what was waiting for them. The room did not either.
We’d like to thank The Assurance Group and their leadership for building this into their annual event. As well as the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Triad for the incredible work they do for the youth in the community.
If you’re planning an annual sales meeting or national conference in the Greensboro or Charlotte area, a Build-A-Bike® team-building event in North Carolina gives your group a meaningful way to close the day. Every bike goes to a child who needs it.
