Temporal gathered for a Build-A-Bike® charity team building activity in Lafayette, California. The event brought together 26 members of the company’s People Team during a larger offsite in the San Francisco Bay Area. For many participants, it was one of the first opportunities to meet teammates in person. Hosted on the beautiful back deck of the Head of People’s home, the gathering felt personal, relaxed, and celebratory. The group combined creativity, competition, and generosity to assemble an impressive eight bicycles for the YMCA of the East Bay.

Temporal Team Members Connect and Give Back at Team Building Activity in Lafayette, California
Temporal’s People Team used the event as an opportunity to strengthen relationships across a nationally distributed workforce. Since many participants had never met face-to-face, the event created a fun setting for genuine connection. The comfortable backyard atmosphere helped everyone relax and enjoy time together outside of their normal work routines.
The group quickly embraced the competitive spirit of the Build-A-Bike® challenge. Teams collaborated, shared ideas, and worked efficiently to complete their bicycles. Their enthusiasm was remarkable. While groups of this size typically donate fewer bikes, the Temporal team doubled expectations and completed eight bicycles for local children.
The event became even more meaningful when Nicole Stovall from the YMCA of the East Bay joined the group to receive the donation. As participants learned more about the YMCA’s impact, they wanted to do even more. Inspired by the organization’s work, Temporal’s leadership team decided to donate an additional Build-A-Bike® program for Nicole and her fellow YMCA managers. That surprise gift created a memorable ending and extended the spirit of giving beyond the event itself.
By combining team building with community support, Temporal created an experience that strengthened connections while making a lasting impact.
We would like to thank Temporal for their incredible generosity and enthusiasm throughout this event. We also thank Nicole Stovall and the YMCA of the East Bay for their partnership and their dedication to serving local families and children.
