Cornerstone Building Brands HR leaders gather for Build-A-Bike® Team Building Activity in Cary, North Carolina
The Build-A-Bike® event brought together members of Cornerstone Building Brands’ HR Leadership Team during a planning meeting focused on the year ahead. Instead of scheduling another traditional workshop, the group chose a hands-on experience that felt aligned with their values and goals. The leaders were intentionally divided into four teams, creating space for fresh perspectives and new working dynamics. Friendly competition, facilitated challenges, and a judging component kept the pace moving while still allowing room for conversation and connection. The atmosphere stayed professional but relaxed, making it easy for participants to step out of their usual roles and engage in a different way.
The charitable element added another layer of meaning to the experience. Teams built bikes knowing they would be donated to Triangle Bike Works, a nonprofit focused on helping children gain confidence and independence through cycling. That connection resonated strongly with the group and gave purpose to every build decision. As the event progressed, leaders worked closely together, balancing strategy, creativity, and lighthearted moments. This marked the first team building experience for this leadership group, which made the day especially memorable. By the end, the team left feeling more connected and grounded, having supported a cause that extended beyond their organization and into the local community.
Thank you to Cornerstone Building Brands for supporting youth in the community through this Build-A-Bike® event. We also appreciate Triangle Bike Works for their partnership and ongoing impact.
