Essex Property Trust Teams Join For a Build-A-Bike® Bike Building Event in San Francisco, California

The Build-A-Bike® event encouraged collaboration across departments that do not always work together. Teams quickly shifted from talking to moving with everyone getting better and better at solving the clues and building the bikes as it went on. The activity created energy and friendly competition throughout the room. Everyone was able to collaborate, compete, and get to know better a group of people they maybe don’t get to see everyday. The event ended with a strong sense of pride and accomplishment.

The bicycles supported Live In Peace and Chase Love, two organizations serving Northern California communities. Tito Alvarez attended the event and shared stories about the charities’ impact. Chase Love hosts monthly outreach events for unhoused individuals and migrant farm workers. The donation held special meaning for participants. Giving Tuesday provided an ideal moment to give back locally. Each completed bike symbolized care, teamwork, and hope. The moment of donation created an emotional and memorable close to the event.

We thank Essex Property Trust for supporting children and families through this meaningful Build-A-Bike® event. We also thank Live In Peace and Chase Love for their dedication to community service.
