Kaiser Permanente Build-A-Bike® Team Event in Pasadena, CA
The Kaiser Permanente medical education office gathered for a Build-A-Bike® team building charity event in Pasadena, CA on September 15th. With 35 participants from curriculum, assessment, simulation, and administrative departments, the group came together for their quarterly meeting. Despite the rooftop heat, they bonded over teamwork, laughter, and some friendly competition while solving puzzles and assembling bikes. By the end, four bicycles were donated to local families who lost everything in the devastating Eaton fire.

The Build-A-Bike® activity was an energizing way for these departments to come together beyond their daily roles. Teams faced off in spirited competitions, racing to solve puzzles and assemble bicycles. The rooftop patio added a unique setting, with participants cheering each other on under the California sun. The event highlighted teamwork, quick problem-solving, and the power of camaraderie among colleagues.
Go Day One, a local charity that supports families in crisis, coordinated the donation. Representative Colin shared the mission and ensured the bicycles went directly to families impacted by the Eaton fire in Pasadena. These families had lost everything, and the gift of new bikes brought much-needed hope and joy. The impact of their efforts moved the group, leaving them with a stronger bond and a sense of purpose.
