LSCU Rescue Bear® Team Building Event in Richmond, VA
The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates hosted a Rescue Bear® charity team building event in Richmond, Virginia. Seventy-five emerging leaders gathered at the Greater Richmond Convention Center to kick off their development journey. These professionals represented a range of credit unions and came ready to connect, grow, and give back.
The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates supports credit unions through advocacy, education, and strategic resources. Founded in 2009 from the merger of Alabama and Florida leagues, the organization expanded to include Georgia in 2019 and Virginia in 2025. LEVERAGE, its service corporation, delivers high-performance solutions to boost growth and efficiency for member credit unions and their partners.
Emerging Credit Union Leaders Build Bears in Team Building Event in Richmond, Virginia.
The Rescue Bear® event provided a unique kickoff for The League’s Emerging Leaders cohort. Teams formed based on individual strengths and tackled a series of creative challenges. Each success earned them parts needed to assemble a stuffed bear. As they solved problems together, participants built communication skills, strengthened bonds, and energized their leadership potential.
The finished bears were donated to the Children’s Hospital of Richmond. Laura, a hospital representative, joined the entire event and even served as a judge. Her involvement helped the group see the direct impact of their efforts. The energy in the room grew as leaders realized how much their teamwork would mean to children facing trauma.
