The event began with the Convo Stack activity and a deep dive into personality temperaments, helping participants understand the “secret sauce” of effective teamwork. Teams then brought their energy and creativity to the Build-A-Bike® competition. While the bike assembly presented challenges—particularly with the tricky front brakes—the team’s persistence and cooperation stood out. Even as frustration rose, teammates rallied to help one another finish strong, proving that perseverance builds unity.
Representatives from Communities In Schools – The Nation’s Capital joined the event to accept the bikes and thank the team for their generosity. Rustin and a local school partner shared how these donations directly impact students in need, inspiring participants to see the deeper purpose behind their efforts. Despite mechanical setbacks, the experience reminded everyone that teamwork and giving back make a lasting difference.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to MuniCap for their generosity and teamwork, and to Communities In Schools for their dedication to empowering local youth.
