Held on a weekend in early June, the team used non-perishable food items to build a mini golf course, then raced through it to sink hole-in-ones.

The team-building event featured both staff and instructors, all eager to bond outside their usual academic roles. Despite the weekend timing, everyone came ready to the get together with fun and learning in their hopes, and they were not disappointed. They designed and built a full 9-hole mini golf course using donated canned goods and boxed foods. Then, the real fun began—each team raced to ace every hole as quickly as possible.
Victory Programs, a Boston-based nonprofit, accepted the food donation after the event. Although the pickup came later, their gratitude was evident. The donated items will go toward supporting individuals and families facing housing instability and addiction. Through light-hearted competition and charitable giving, the optometry team helped strengthen their local community while building strong connections within their own.
