On Sept. 23, Radiology Partners hosted a Charity Bike Building event in Minneapolis, MN. 65 leaders from across the country came together for a Build-A-Bike® event at the Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown Convention Center. Attendance ran well below what the group had planned for, but the team got scrappy and still finished the day having built 14 bicycles for ACES for Kids.
Radiology Partners is a national radiology practice network that provides diagnostic imaging services to hospitals, health systems, and patients across the United States. They combine multiple radiology practices under one network while preserving each practice’s local autonomy.
Radiology Partners Leaders Get Scrappy During Charity Bike Building Event in Minneapolis
Attendance came in about 40% lower than expected, which meant the teams of four who did show up had to get scrappy to pull off the day. And they came to the plate. They kicked things off with a cheer contest that produced some genuinely clever quips — and, somewhere along the way, one completely unplanned, unrehearsed act of team acrobatics that no one saw coming.
The main build unfolded unlike anything the instructor had run before. Every team’s kit had mismatched parts, which sent people crisscrossing the room to track down the pieces they actually needed to finish a bike. It turned what could have been a straightforward build into a real scramble.
By the end, the leaders had built 14 youth bicycles for ACES for Kids. They are a Minnesota-based nonprofit that empowers youth through sports-themed math curriculum and social-emotional skill development. They also provide mentorship for 4th-8th graders across Minnesota schools and community centers. ACES Executive Director Jazmin Danielson accepted the bikes and shared a story with the group about young recipients whose worlds changed for the better the moment they got their bikes.
We’d like to thank Radiology Partners for having Build-a-Bike® as part of their event. We would also like to thank ACES for Kids for the incredible work they do for the youth of the community.
