The Boston Children’s Hospital team gathered for a Build-A-Bike® charity team building event in Boston, MA. Forty participants came together to build six brand-new bicycles for local kids. Many of these bikes will become Christmas gifts for families who are struggling right now. The event brought staff together for a meaningful afternoon of teamwork and generosity.
Boston Children’s Hospital is a 404-bed pediatric health center that delivers comprehensive care from birth through young adulthood. As one of the largest pediatric medical centers in the country, the hospital manages more than 25,000 inpatient admissions each year. Its 200 clinical programs schedule over half a million annual visits. The hospital also performs tens of thousands of surgeries and radiological exams. Independent organizations consistently recognize its team of physicians and nurses for excellence across many specialties.
Boston Children’s Hospital Employees Gather for Build-A-Bike® Team Building Event in Boston, Massachusetts
The Build-A-Bike® event gave this group an uplifting way to connect, help their community and grow closer. Team members collaborated in small groups to solve challenges and earn the parts they needed. Each team assembled one section of a bike and worked together to complete every build. The room stayed filled with energy as coworkers encouraged each other and celebrated every victory. The focus on children in their own community made the work even more meaningful.
John from the Boys and Girls Club arrived early with a large van to accept the completed bicycles. He communicated well with the team and shared how much these donations will help local families. The club serves children who rely on its programs for support, mentoring, and stability. These six bikes will brighten the holidays for kids who need joy the most.
