Rice University Unites Students and Alumni for Build-A-Bike® Events in Houston, Texas
The first Build-A-Bike® event marked the second year Rice Business incorporated the program into their summer curriculum. Sixty students worked in teams to assemble multiple bikes, honing their collaboration and leadership skills. The friendly competition created a vibrant atmosphere where students learned to solve problems efficiently and build trust with teammates.

Just days later, the Alumni Summit concluded with another Build-A-Bike® event, this time for 45 accomplished graduates, many now serving in C-suite positions. These leaders embraced the opportunity to strengthen professional relationships while engaging in hands-on teamwork. Many expressed enthusiasm about bringing the program to their own organizations after experiencing its impact firsthand.
Both events culminated in the donation of completed bikes to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Houston. The organization ensures that local children, many from underserved communities, have safe, reliable transportation. Participants took pride in knowing their efforts directly improved young lives, making the experience even more meaningful.
We extend our gratitude to Rice University and its alumni for their generosity and commitment to community service. We also thank the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Houston for their tireless work supporting area youth.
