Wells Fargo New Hires Donate Bikes to Young Explorers Centers at Build-A-Bike® Event in Charlotte

Wrapping up new hire training with Build-A-Bike® isn’t just a fun activity for Wells Fargo’s credit department. It’s a tradition. The group comes in at the end of a long and intensive onboarding period. The activity gives them a chance to connect with colleagues in a completely different way than a classroom allows.

This group included new team members alongside internal transfers who were joining the credit department from other parts of the organization. That mix made the team dynamics especially interesting. People who already knew the Wells Fargo culture helped newer hires settle in, all while working together to build bikes.

The bikes were donated to Young Explorers Centers, a Charlotte-area organization that supports children and families in the community. Renee Goodwin from Young Explorers Centers attended in person and spoke to the group directly. Putting a face to the cause, making the handoff that much more meaningful.

We’d like to thank Wells Fargo for making Build-A-Bike® a consistent part of new hire onboarding. We would also like to thanks Renee Goodwin for taking the time to be there in person and welcome the group into the spirit of giving back.
