Heidelberg Materials, Inc. hosted a Build-A-Bike® charity team building event in Irving, TX. Sixty engineers gathered for a morning of teamwork, networking, and giving back. With many new hires and remote employees, the event offered a valuable opportunity to connect in person. The fast-paced workshop helped participants strengthen communication while assembling bikes for a local Boys & Girls Club.

This Build-A-Bike® event brought together engineers whose team has grown significantly in recent months. With so many new faces, the morning provided a great chance for colleagues to meet and connect beyond their daily roles. Working in teams, participants tackled challenges and collaborated to earn parts needed to assemble their bikes. The hands-on experience highlighted communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills essential to both their projects and their culture of innovation.
The energy in the room grew as the teams completed their bicycles for the local Boys & Girls Club. Representatives from the charity spoke to the group and arrived with a van to collect the bikes. Their heartfelt appreciation reminded everyone that their efforts were making a direct difference in the community.
