National Grid Employees Engage in Charitable Build-A-Bike® Event in Waltham, Massachusetts
The Build-A-Bike® event was a remarkable opportunity for National Grid employees to unite for a common cause. Teams collaborated to assemble 16 child-sized bicycles. This demonstrated their commitment not only to teamwork but also to making a positive impact in the community. This event was a reflection of National Grid’s ethos of connecting and empowering communities, extending beyond their primary role in the energy sector.
The highlight of the event was the heartfelt story shared by a National Grid employee. His personal account of how the Boys and Girls Club positively influenced his life in a challenging neighborhood of Detroit added a deeply emotional and unplanned element to the day. The assembled bikes were donated to the Salesian Boys and Girls Club, with their representative, Jim Geraci, delivering an appreciative acceptance speech. This gesture not only provided tangible help to the children but also fostered a deeper connection between National Grid’s team and the community they served.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to National Grid for their generous contribution and spirited participation in the Build-A-Bike® event. Our thanks also go to the Salesian Boys and Girls Club for their ongoing dedication to nurturing and supporting the youth in our communities.
